The Crown TouchPad is a designed to be a replaceable alternative to a touch compound, we would not recommend applying a TouchPad to a stick that has a deliberately uneven or roughened finish on the face. 

Steps for Application:

Peel tape from 3M backing.

Apply adhesive side to the face of the stick.

Smooth from the middle to remove air bubbles using a hard flat object.

We recommend replacing your TouchPad approximately every 2 months.
